"Mochimaster " (Mochimaster)

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is an art/music Kinja blog. I've noticed the posting-rate has slowed down a bit, and I think this is because there aren't enough authors.
So please, if you want to write about art, music, or anything of the like, feel free to ask for authorship, and post that stuff on Mezzotempo!

The one thing I love about mezzo and photography is that they are both very dedicated to the core ideals. Even if slow.

It's the same with the Photography blog, but it's a nice atmosphere there. Iforgotmyburner does a great job of keeping things lively.
I've had a album review posted there once; don't feel too compelled to write a consistent series of album reviews for the site, but I could if I decide to.

I'll take an authorship if you need another classic rock/heavy metal dude. I have a bunch of music I'd love to share, though I'm not sure if other people want to hear it, haha.

As long as it's related to the subject, you're all good.

I didn't even know about it until I saw a post from there shared on the Observation Deck today.
I can't say how much I'd write about music, but I'd be happy to try. I wrote something up about Tortoise on the Observation Deck the other day that might work for it.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And maybe it'll help me find a mariachi cover of Toto's "Africa." I mean who wouldn't want to hear that?

I will take authorship if you are offering. Allow me to share with you when I find the beautiful, strange music of the world.

On Whitenoise, I've been stuck working 80 hours a week on QA work.

Having seen Boyd Rice live... I'm a bit curious and kind of scared, what you'll be bringing to the group.
edit. Added. Please keep posts on topic and enjoy! Am honestly curious what you'll post about.

I have a few longish posts coming up for mezzo soon. I just need to stop nitpicking and say "yup, that's good enough"

Thanks! Just because I support musical extremes doesn't mean I will be bombarding you all with noise for noise's sake. I imagine I will mostly be posting about either new releases of note in at the record shop or music history stuff as I come across it or as it crops up in pop culture. My great love is hot jazz, so really brace yourself for a bunch of 1940s musical shorts. Solid potato salad!
Thanks again.

I don't want to censor anyone. I just want it to be on topic. And whatever I think of Boyd Rice, Stapleton, the Threshold House and anything related, it is art. And it is music. =)

I'd love to write for the blog. :) I really like alternative music. Also indie folk and such. Although I am kinda all over the board. I love Phish but also like Journey and Boston. Plus I know way too much about too many bands. :P

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not about the mariachi thing, but have you heard Mariachi El Bronx? They totally kick ass!
I know the band and sometimes it's still hard to believe it's the same guys from The Bronx, whose musical style is usually more along the lines of gems like this.

Ha! No, not being sarcastic. I heard a Caribbean, kind of calypso cover of Toto's "Africa" once, and it made me think the song was perfect for a mariachi cover. Which made me think a lot of 1970's power ballads could probably do well with a mariachi face life — Boston's "More Than A Feeling," Kansas "Carry On My Wayward Son," Cheap Trick "I Want You To Want Me," Manfred Mann's "Blinded By The Light," Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" — I'd love to hear mariachi covers of all that.
And I did not know about Mariachi El Bronx, thank you. Although that other video is a bit unnerving — kind of like those commercials where the babies talk about finances.

Oh man, a mariachi cover of "Baker Street"? Swoon. I love that song!
And yeah, that "History's Stranglers" video is unnerving. If you watch it you catch some hilarious cringe worthy moments. Particularly when the "dad" is sitting on the bench and the kid kinda moves his hand to keep his balance. The dad gets a "wtf/are you serious" look on his face. The video though is just crazy, that one little kid is just doing all kinds of weirdly unsettling things. The baseball bat into his hand for awhile, bugs the hell out of me.

These guys are friends of yours? It's a hell of a creative video — made me pay attention, and that's rare for music videos these days.

Oh, no. Totally not friends of mine. I wish. I just meant I know who the band is. As in I've known about them and listened to their stuff for years and I was eagerly awaiting their mariachi album since rumors first spread that they'd release one. Even knowing it's them it still blows my mind that it's the same band.
Totally a creative video though.
